Stop Deal, NJ from Giving Free Beach Access to Homeowners

The Jersey Shore Chapter exposed the fact that the Borough of Deal, NJ admitted to giving free beach access to oceanfront homeowners in direct conflict with NJ laws.

After several fights over beach access with Deal, NJ in recent years, the Jersey Shore Chapter is working to prevent the town from illegally giving free beach access to its oceanfront homeowners. The town admitted publicly that they were giving adjacent homeowners free access to a beach where they just placed lifeguards and started charging beach access fees. NJ case law established long ago that towns could not treat residents and non-resident differently with respect to beach fee. This would appear to violate the same spirit.

Chapter Chair Andrew Chambarry discovered ths statement and alerted state officials and the media.
