Defend the National Environmental Policy Act

Surfrider is working to defend the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) from rollbacks by the Trump administration.

The Trump administration has proposed a rule change to the National Environmental Policy Act that would significantly weaken requirements for environmental review of federal actions and other large projects. The new rules would also exclude climate change entirely from NEPA analyses.

The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) is accepting public comments on the proposal until March 10, 2020 (see below). Check Surfrider's Coastal Blog and Action Alert Center for updates and additional ways to take action.

To submit comments online:

Go to https://www.regulations.gov/ and follow the online instructions for submitting comments to Docket ID No. CEQ-2019-0003
